The Maldives....

All right class, for your next blog assignment, you will write a short paragraph about the Maldives.

You may NOT include any of the words or phrases from this list:

• crystal clear water that turns turquoise, then navy as the ocean gets deeper;

• paradise;

• perfect powdery white sand;

• cocktails on the beach;

• cosy wood bungalow on the beach with a 4-poster bed, complete with bed curtain things;

• outdoor shower;

• drift diving with a turtle, a thousand different kinds of rare fish species, plenty of white-tip sharks and spying a hammerhead in the distance… then lying around and dreaming of it afterwards;

• lovely sunshine and sunburned noses;

• out of this world sunsets;

• living coral that you can see from the dock;

• baby sharks spotted from a balcony;
• stingray feeding time;

• hermit crabs, flying foxes (diurnal fruit bats);

• 29° temperature all the time, even when underwater;

• coconuts;

• palm trees;

• iguanas and geckos;

• fresh fruit everywhere;

• breakfast buffets;
• special Maldivian too-spicy-to-eat supper;

• private romantic Thai restaurant dinner;
• cranes - the bird, not the construction thingy;

• walking on a 2m wide sand spit for 1 km as waves lapped our feet and a bikini model pranced in the distance;

• Italian Colada, Cafe del Mar, Long Island Ice Tea, Mexican Colada, Blue Lagoon, Pina Colada, Twilight Cocktail, Serenity Cocktail - no mint to have a proper Mojito, unfortunately;

• coconut and green chilis in everything;
• 2-hour stopover each way in the Sri Lankan airport, which is actually quite cool (will be our next vacation, I am sure);

• perfect;
• amazing;
• awesome;
• worth every penny;
• not enough time to do it all;
• beyond your wildest dreams;
